TheDaviesInCostaRica: February 2010
http://thedaviesincostarica.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 23, 2010. Manuel Antonio National Park. One of the last adventures we went on with the in-laws while the kids were still out on the Costa Rican version of summer holidays (Nov 28 to Feb 7th) was to Manuel Antonio National Park. After Arenal Volcano, this is probably Costa Rica’s next biggest tourist attraction, and for good reason. It’s both a land and marine protected area harbouring a large variety of plant and animal life. Here are some pics. (Click to enlarge):. The bar at El Avion.

A Bit of Stardust. A blog where science meets creativity meets fun meets…. November 20, 2011. Of Mud and Muck. A smattering of clockwork stars filtered through a lens of clean, desolate air and a mineral laden wind, the gears of a lonely night time sky. I am visiting my Aunt and Uncle on their acres of wild property up in Northern Maine, in a little town contiguous to Bar Harbor. They have a small, efficient house set close to jagged shoreline bordering a tidal, estuarine influx. November 10, 2011. So, m...

Travels with Paul and Wendy: February 2008
http://paulandwendys.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Travels with Paul and Wendy. Thursday, 7 February 2008. Saturday 12 January: San Jose - Newark - Gatwick. The next morning we had a leisurely start before heading of to the airport. We bid farewell to our traveling companions, except Dan and Tanya who had already left at 5.00am! We did a final trawl for souvenirs in the hotel gift shop, purchasing several. Which is the real one? Saturday, 2 February 2008. We watched the spectacular sunset before having dinner and the odd drink or three. It all ended too ...

Travels with Paul and Wendy: Thursday 10 January
http://paulandwendys.blogspot.com/2008/02/thursday-10-january.html
Travels with Paul and Wendy. Saturday, 2 February 2008. After the national park we caught the bus back down the road to a restaurant called El Avion. Essentially its called this because it has an ex-Contra Fairchild C123 parked in the middle of it. Indeed the bar is in the body of the aircraft. The plane was funded by the CIA from the profits from selling arms to Iran. More details can be found here; http:/ www.elavion.net/. We watched the spectacular sunset before having dinner and the odd drink or three.

Travel Blog: Costa Rica
http://pettitstravels.blogspot.com/2011/06/costa-rica.html
Tuesday, March 1, 2011. We didn't arrive until night time so we took the map they gave us and found our way to the Holiday Inn where we were staying for the night. There really is not much in San Jose other than the airport. It's in the middle of the county so no ocean and it was very dry, almost like Arizona. Probably the most common meal there was chicken and beans. The food there was always delicious and the seafood was so fresh and yummy. This place was beyond awesome! This spider was not being rescu...
