For the 4th year in a row, the sixth grade class from Doulos Discovery School ventured to the coral reef at Playa Fronton off the Samana peninsula. With marine biologist Dr. Rubén Torres and his team from Reef Check International, our students learned how a coral reef is built and maintained in nature. We also learned what is destroying the reefs worldwide and how we can be advocates of this beautiful part of creation. Thank you, Reef Check!

Friday, June 8, 2007. Los arrecife de coral son unos animales. Pequeños que ellos mismo forman sus huesos. Sus huesos pueden ser grandes. Los corales son animales que hacen su propio hogar. En el arrecife podemos encontrar una multitud de animales ,entre los cuales se encuentran el erizo blanco . generalmente nace en la orilla de las playa , sin embargo , a medida que crece. El Arrecife de Corales se pueden encontrar en la playas, podemos cuidar el Arrecife de Corales no tirando basuras a los Río. porque el Río lo lleva al Océano y mata el Arrecife de Corales. El Arrecife de Corales cuidad la playa de las olas grandes del inmenso Océano, y si cortamos los árboles, la tierra no encontrara de que agarrarse y el Río se lleva la tierra y la lleva al Océano y mata el Arrecife de Corales.
