Losing It!: Why I Run
http://deanneislosingit.blogspot.com/2012/10/why-i-run_18.html
A virtual weight loss support group dedicated to better health and positive lifestyle changes. Thursday, October 18, 2012. This Saturday is a Susan G. Komen breast cancer run. I am really looking forward to it, and for a lot of different reasons. Not that cancer is any walk in the park now, but not all types of cancers carry the same Death Sentence toll that they used to. Many have good diagnostic tests that can catch cancers early, and early detection often leads to more treatment options and better...

A virtual weight loss support group dedicated to better health and positive lifestyle changes. Friday, January 16, 2009. This is great - I like knowing others are on this journey with me. I've exercised and dieted since my early 30's - to stay the size I wanted to be. As I moved closer to my 50's - it became about health - what a motivator! It's no longer an option or about the mirror! Links to this post. Tip for Today #1. I only had about 10 mintues. Free stepped 1,300 steps in 10 minutes. Now I'm one-t...

A virtual weight loss support group dedicated to better health and positive lifestyle changes. Wednesday, January 21, 2009. I'm trying a tip I read to get in my water for the day - every other beverage you drink should be a glass of water. So my day goes like this - water, juice, water, coffee, water, hot tea, water, etc. I think I'm at least getting close to the ounces of water I should have - but I'm not having to count. Tired of counting! Points", calories, glasses of water, servings of fruit, etc.

Day Six: Doctor said yesterday I wasn't ready to be working out yet. Day Eight: Still waiting on X-ray results. Day Nine: Still waiting.

Losing It!: You'll Never Know Until You "Tri"!
http://deanneislosingit.blogspot.com/2013/11/youll-never-know-until-you-tri.html
A virtual weight loss support group dedicated to better health and positive lifestyle changes. Friday, November 29, 2013. You'll Never Know Until You "Tri"! July 27, 2013. A day that will live on in my personal infamy. The alarm "brinngggeedd" at 3 AM. Who sets an alarm for 3 AM on a Saturday morning? We hit the door at 4:12 for the drive to Baton Rouge in a slight drizzly rain. I silently whispered for the whole 90 miles that is would stop. I don't do "wet" well. At all. As luck would have it, my number...

Losing It!: Moving the Bar
http://deanneislosingit.blogspot.com/2014/02/moving-bar.html
A virtual weight loss support group dedicated to better health and positive lifestyle changes. Sunday, February 23, 2014. Today, I thought of Daddy. I have two major biking events planned this year. Belles on Bikes on May 3 and the Big Dam Bridge 100 on September 27. Last year was the first time I did the Belles on Bikes and I rode 16 miles. I did 50 miles in last year's Big Dam Bridge 100. This year I want to do the maximums in both - 62 and 100 miles, respectively. You aren't supposed to move! While pu...

A virtual weight loss support group dedicated to better health and positive lifestyle changes. Friday, January 23, 2009. Tip for Today #5. Guess what. This trip ain't easy. You will have slip ups. You will hit plateaus and get discouraged. You will blame yourself when the scales don't move. I give you permission to forgive yourself. That means you don't get to give up just because you had a bad day. Time (its busy season, Saturday is just another work day) and get back on the program. My Wii. Least favor...

Losing It!: 01/18/09
http://deanneislosingit.blogspot.com/2009_01_18_archive.html
A virtual weight loss support group dedicated to better health and positive lifestyle changes. Sunday, January 18, 2009. Tip for Today #2. The greatest of all journeys begins with but the smallest of steps. You have to start with a plan. It has to be reasonable and workable. Decide where you need to focus your initial energies and set goals. Changes are much easier to make when you pick one to start with and then add others. Changes take time to become habits. Have patience. Links to this post.
