Wednesday, March 18, 2015. This is the view from the bus in the parking lot in Boxboro, before we drove north. Everyone is happy and smiling and excited. Sam skied well, finishing 54th, followed by his compatriot first-year J2s with Kevin in 77th, Thor in 83rd, and Isaac in 92nd. Lots of very fast skiers at this race! Lydia skied to a consistent top-50, and Katherine had a great race, moving all the way up to 54th, followed right behind by Ella in 55th - Ella had never classic skied before this year!

Tuesday, June 16, 2015. National Masters, Sugarloaf, 2001. Another old photo of CSU and Maine Masters at Sugarloaf for National Masters. This had one of the epic races, a 30 k where the temps dropped from the 30s to the teens during the race, after rain, and the course froze up solid and almost everyone lost their klister. Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Western MA training weekend. We started with a rollerski, on the rolling, well-paved, wide-shouldered roads of western MA and eastern NY. Did YOU ski across a state line last weekend? Having a snack in the parking lot of a Stop and Shop. classy. Sonya was a fan of the fried chicken. I swear, these kids aren't homeless. Found a swimming hole, prior to pizza for dinner and some fun word games. Despite not staying at a campground, we managed to make a fire and have s'mores anyway.

The Cambridge Sports Union is one of the Boston area's premier running, skiing and orienteering athletic clubs boasting members from all corners of greater Boston, Massachusetts and beyond. CSU's ski section is a community of cross country ski racers from Greater Boston and includes the CSU Junior program for high school aged skiers. Sunday, January 25, 2015. Frank toes the line. Skis worked, good to go! Andy Milne had been prepping everyone all week with his usual amusing emails and CSU clearly had the biggest contingent in the race and ready to reclaim our respective crowns after a year off in the NENSA one-day club championship. CSU Women (minus Hannah Smith) - Champions! CSU Men - Champions! Alex was the overall women's winner and I believe Hannah was 2nd. Congrats! Full results are posted HERE. Alex collecting some swag for 1st.

Wednesday, July 22, 2015. That afternoon we braved the sunny 85 degree weather and went boating on the Waterbury Reservoir for a casual paddle. Lots of splashing between the boats with little regard for the coaches as Madeline and James worked on their quick strength by seeing who could dump the most water into the opposing ship. A short swim and we returned home to cookout. Sunday the same crew braved a 5 minute shower to climb up Mt. Mansfield in the early morning. July 27, 2015 at 9:16 AM.

Sunday, June 21, 2015. Mt Washington Road Race. It was a great day on the rock pile with perfect weather and lots of CSUers running. A few photos:. Bermans at the awards. Ellie Mendonca was inducted into the Hall of Fame. She won 3 times in the late 70s, setting 2 course records in the process. Ellie (Brazil) also is one of two CSU runners to have run in the 1984 Olympics along with Charlie Spedding (Gt. Britain). CSU Women's Senior team. Lewis and Will having a great race. I almost missed Chris Doyle.
