It is a non-profit, non-governmental organization catering to the needs of neglected and/or abandoned children in Penang. It was officially launched in April 1992 by Puan Sri Chua Kah Peng. How You Can Help. CPS runs many activities, inside and outside the Shelter. These include involving the children in the running of the home, through regular house meetings, through allocation of responsibilities to the children in helping look after the home, and through regular gotong-royong activities to keep the Shelter tidy and in order. There are also many educational activities, ranging from the Reading to Learn programme, volunteer tuition, sewing, arts and crafts, and other skill classes.
