Courtney in Finland - Suomi Summer Stories

Courtney in Finland - Suomi Summer Stories. Sunday, August 29, 2010. I'm sitting in the Helsinki-Vantaa airport, waiting to board the first of three planes that will take me home. I'm still surprised that my summer in Suomi passed by so quickly. Though it was cold and rainy when I arrived in Helsinki in early June (and is now cold and rainy again), I was eager and excited to begin this Finnish adventure. I had no idea that, during these three months, I'd face a record breaking heat wave. Though I'm sad a...

Courtney in Finland - Suomi Summer Stories: Road Trip: Finland Style

http://courtneyinfinland.blogspot.com/2010/08/roadtrip-finland-style.html

Courtney in Finland - Suomi Summer Stories. Thursday, August 5, 2010. Road Trip: Finland Style. Highlights from a weekend trip to Hanko, Tammisaari, and Fiskars in the southernmost part of Finland:. Visited a real bunker from the war between Russia and Finland. Nearly got lost in the woods due to missing ribbons (aka caution tape) along the path. Edited museum brochures in English as necessary. Coastal cities are really windy. Especially when on the top of a water tower. Finnish hares are big!

Courtney in Finland - Suomi Summer Stories: Stockholm: Södermalm

http://courtneyinfinland.blogspot.com/2010/07/stockholm-sodermalm.html

Courtney in Finland - Suomi Summer Stories. Sunday, July 4, 2010. Many months ago, before spending a summer in Suomi became a reality, there were many reasons why I added Finland to my list of possible destinations: I had been to Helsinki for one day. And that brief visit wasn't sufficient to get a real feel for the city, to reunite with a good friend, and to be back in the Scandinavian/Nordic region and essentially neighbors to my family in Stockholm. Determining my fate on Söder?

Courtney in Finland - Suomi Summer Stories: A Finnish Beginning

http://courtneyinfinland.blogspot.com/2010/06/finnish-beginning.html

Courtney in Finland - Suomi Summer Stories. Thursday, June 3, 2010. Four years ago, I visited Finland for one day, via boat while studying in Uppsala, Sweden. Though I vowed to my Swedish-speaking Finnish friend - Johanna - that I'd be back, I didn't think that it would take me four years, or that when I did finally come back, that I'd be staying for three months. The journey from Denver was exhausting. Three flights, three trips through security, and one passport stamp later, I arrived! Your blog looks ...

If we think about the things we do have, we forget about the things we don't have. Friday, December 25, 2009. Monday, December 07, 2009. This was on our (dc and I's) table at Bubba Gump's Shrimp in Colorado over the summer. and it is so true and fitting. so we have adopted it as our motto, because, you know, it is funny how things work out. Courtney in control 2. Friday, December 05, 2008. I am grateful for:. David- he makes me happier than I have ever been; he helps me to be a better person- the best person I can be. My “kids”- the kitties- who love me unconditionally and are always happy to see me. My family- momma, daddy, and brother- who also love me unconditionally. My job- including my boss and co-workers. For food to eat. The ability to achieve and accomplish goals that I have set for myself. To grow and to become a better person.

Wednesday, March 25, 2015. It's been forever, right? I want to get back to blogging, there is something about a virtual journal that is amazing and therapeutic. I figured I would start blogging about our 2015 Park Challenge! Then of course some more personal feeling goodness I come up with and need to get out. Lately we have been living on the go. Peace Corps - Honduras!

Peace Corps - Honduras! Instead of sending out mass emails that are packed with all the details and descriptions of my time in the Peace Corps, I thought a blog would be a better way to organize my thoughts and experiences. Also, keeping an online journal means that everyone can look at it when they want instead of having full e-mail inboxes of letters. Enjoy! The contents of this website are mine personally and do not reflect any position of the U.S. Government or the Peace Corps. Pineapple ready to eat.
