Saturday, June 19, 2010. Stuffed olives are a staple party treat I prepare. It's very common to stuff olives in Malta using this methods. In the Netherlands and also in Germany, olives are usually stuffed with a whole garlic or pimento. For this recipe you need big, green meaty olives. If the olives are too small it's harder to stuff them. Chopped flat leaf parsley. 1 Garlic clove minced. A slice of white bread (only the soft central part). 1 chili pepper chopped (optional). Friday, September 2, 2011. Baked rice with white sauce. This is another one of my mum's dishes. It's baked rice which is layered with minced meat, ham, eggs, cheese and a white bescamelle sauce. 4-6 tomatoes without peel and deseeded. Cheese, something which is young and melts nicely in the oven such as Edam cheese. Cook the rice in water with 1 chicken cube. Place the rice in an oven proof dish with no more than 1 inch thickness. Sautee the minced onion and minced garlic. Add the minced meat and cook.

Wednesday, December 10, 2014. The Dutch celebrate Sinterklaas. On the evening of 5th December. This day has it's own set of sweets like the chocolate letters, kruidnootjes. Speculoos biscuits/Biscoff biscuits) and pepernootjes. The ingredient that is nearly always present in these traditional sweets is speculoos. In the Netherlands you can buy the speculoos spices however I haven't yet found these spices in Melbourne. So to savour these typical Sinterklaas biscuits I prepared the spice mix myself.

One of THOSE weekends! It was a weekend of FOOD. I tried as much as I could to stick to healthy options but sometimes there wasn’t the option plus sometimes temptation is hard to resist. To top it all off I have no exercised in 3 days. However I will not let it put me down! This is a new week. I will make up for the weekend, I will exercise, I will get back on track.
