We spent a week in Manly and it was perfect, being a 30 minute ferry ride from Sydney's CBD it would be an amazing place to settle; you have the best of both worlds- a place near the ocean thats on the doorstep of a big city. In the Valley there was a free mini festival on so we got to see some live music, and had the most delicious 96% fat free passion fruit and lychee ice cream. Was told the fashion wasn't much in Australia (except maybe in Sydney and Melbourne) but found some wicked clothes shops, we were tempted by many items but uncharacteristically of us both we walked away empty handed. I could have spent the whole day staring at the dolphins (and they were definitely staring back at me), but Ben dragged me off to see the Polar bears. Seeing the white furred bears was quite amazing, they are beautiful creatures and you really want to give them a big cuddle- which obviously you can't because they would crush you!
