He is a graduate of The Juilliard School, where he studied with Yoheved Kaplinsky. A native of the Bronx, he resides in Montclair, New Jersey. James Gaffigan

James Gaffigan is considered one of the most outstanding young American conductors working today. He made his professional opera debut at the Zurich Opera in June 2005 conducting. Born in New York City in 1979, Gaffigan studied at the LaGuardia High School of Music and Art, the Juilliard School Preparatory Division, and then graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music. He earned his Masters of Music in conducting at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University in Houston.
