Handspun, Hand dyed yarn, Weavings and Knitting. Island Fibers is the collaboration of Debbie Hayward and Maxine Bronstein. Proponents of the Slow Fiber Movement, we craft each stage of our textile production by hand, from sorting and washing the newly-shorn fleece through spinning and dyeing the yarn to the final designing, knitting, and weaving of rugs, blankets, garments, and whimsical accessories.

She is happy to have relocated to Lopez Island, WA. The coastal setting is a welcome change after living at 10,000 feet in Colorado where there are not a lot of waterscapes to enjoy. The lush green landscape and moderate climate of the San Juans appeals to her love of gardening and provides fresh subject matter for her art.
