http://cfumcga.blogspot.com/2011/10/week-two-friday.html
Friday, October 14, 2011. But strive first for the kingdom of God. Righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Someone was here before us. And suddenly, those genealogies made sense! We might not know those people from centuries long ago but their names are recorded to tell us something today. There were people who sought God before us. Because there were (and are) people who practice extravagant generosity, we have a place to worship at Cumming FUMC.

CFUMCGA: Week Three: Wednesday
http://cfumcga.blogspot.com/2011/10/week-three-wednesday.html
Wednesday, October 19, 2011. Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of possessions.’ Luke 12:15. How much is enough? How much is too much? These are questions that are before our society right now. Wisdom literature through the centuries has pointed to this, not as an issue of government to solve but an issue of our human condition. Maybe no story tells it better than the one of Midas. Why do you think generosity counteracts greed so effectively?

CFUMCGA: Week Two: Wednesday
http://cfumcga.blogspot.com/2011/10/week-two-wednesday.html
Wednesday, October 12, 2011. How does God’s love abide in anyone who has the world’s goods and sees a brother or sister. In need and yet refuses help? Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action. And by this we will know that we are from the truth and will reassure our hearts before him. Charles Spurgeon said, "Giving to God is no loss; it is putting your substance in the best bank. Giving is true having as the old gravestone said. What I spent I had;. What I saved I lost:.

CFUMCGA: Week Four: Thursday
http://cfumcga.blogspot.com/2011/10/week-four-thursday.html
Thursday, October 27, 2011. Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:11-13). What I am struck by in Paul’s letter regarding contentment is this, he learned it. Paul is living extravagant generosity. Why or why not?

Saturday, October 22, 2011. Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house, and thus put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts; see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing. Malachi 3:1. The minimum always carries a warning. A minimum is simply a starting point, the baseline. Minimum wage, minimum salary, minimum bid, even the minimum speed all indicate a warning. CFUMCGA: Week Two: Thursday
http://cfumcga.blogspot.com/2011/10/week-two-thursday_13.html
Thursday, October 13, 2011. Every generous act of giving, with every perfect gift, is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
