BUSH TEMPLE - Zana Wright

The design and construction of a large sculptural bamboo shade structure for the Lost Paradise Festival. The extremely light nature of bamboo allowed the structure to be built on the isolated bush site by hand, largely without the use of power tools. The vertical poles are embedded deep into the ground, supporting a canopy of almost one thousand poles connected using a reusable rope tourniquet system. Design, construction, project management.
