Learn how to take better photographs with any camera. Sharp As A Tack – How To Get Your Subject In Focus. Accurate focus is one of the most important elements for a good photograph. Learn how to take better photographs with any camera. Review – Amazon.com is a Real Internet Superstore. Author’s note: This is not a usual product review, but it’s one that I have wanted to write for a very long time. It seems like I have shopped at Amazon.com forever. I can remember when Amazon was only an on-line bookstore. Even in those days, I was amazed at how extensive their selection was and how fast it continually grew. When I decided that I wanted to review and offer digital SLR cameras. And ph...

Learn how to take better photographs with any camera. We learned how to drastically reduce camera shake by practicing the basic principles described in Shake Your Booty-Not Your Camera. Sometimes those will not be enough. When do we need even more stabilization and how can we accomplish it? But what if a tripod is not an option? By Michael L Smith. New Dog in the House. We brought Missy, Casper’s daughter, home in October. She will be three months old on November 14. Casper is adjusting to the new puppy pretty well, but I think he misses quite a bit of his nap time. That is OK. He needs the exercise anyway. Daddy Casper, by the way, will be three years old in December. Take a look at some of the first shots of the two of them in the Casper and Missy gallery. Mail (will not be published). Visit to Arenal Volcano | Photographic Reflections

By Michael L Smith. A visit to Arenal Volcano. I’ve been pretty busy, but I finally got a chance to take a couple of days in August to visit one of my favorite parts of Costa Rica–Arenal Volcano. The weather wasn’t great, but it wasn’t bad either. We did see the volcano a couple of afternoons between the rains. The volcano was quiet, but it was steaming and we saw gas clouds flowing down the side one day. If you are interested in Costa Rican volcanoes, I have more images posted at Cocori.com.
