Coach Hoover's Football Site: Slant Route - Getting Leverage on the Defender
http://coachhoover.blogspot.com/2012/11/slant-route-getting-leverage-on-defender.html?spref=bl
Thursday, November 1, 2012. Slant Route - Getting Leverage on the Defender. The second cut-up shows a veteran WR, Kerry Colbert (I believe), running the Slant the correct way: attack the inside # to get leverage, stay low and stick the foot in the ground with a head nod away, and catch the ball with the hands away from the body. It's a thing of beauty to see proper technique ruthlessly destroy opponents time and time again. Slant Route - Getting Leverage on the Defender. November 2, 2012 at 6:48 PM.

BUCKEYE FOOTBALL ANALYSIS: October 2009
http://buckeyefootballanalysis.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
A site dedicated to Buckeye X's and O's. Friday, October 30, 2009. The Spread, Arithmetic, and why OSU may have gone back to Multiple Formations. Has Ohio State abandoned an all 'spread' attack to go back to mixing in the I and 1-Back formations? And if so, why? Starting with the Illinois game, Ohio State effectively became an all-shotgun spread to run team. According to Jeff Amey of the O-Zone, Ohio State lined up in the shotgun 87% of the time for the four games from Illinois to Purdue. That the spread...

BUCKEYE FOOTBALL ANALYSIS: November 2009
http://buckeyefootballanalysis.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
A site dedicated to Buckeye X's and O's. Thursday, November 26, 2009. Ohio State vs. Michigan Breakdown-Updated. Another game, another dominating rushing performance, and another example of Tresselball in action on the offensive end. The fact that it ended with another victory over the Wolverines and an outright Big Ten title made it all the better (and at times more maddening). Against Ohio State, however, Michigan came out in Rodriguez's favored 3-3-5. After getting a feel for what Michigan was doing, ...

BUCKEYE FOOTBALL ANALYSIS: 2010 Ohio State Offense: Dave Update

A site dedicated to Buckeye X's and O's. Monday, August 9, 2010. 2010 Ohio State Offense: Dave Update. Here is a great additional resource for the Dave play: a copy of the 2002 OSU playbook. Though outdated in some respects, the Dave diagram and rules hold as true today. The playbook gives the rules for each position and diagrams the play against nearly every possible defensive combination. Well-worth the read. August 13, 2010 at 9:53 AM. BUCKEYE FOOTBALL ANALYSIS: April 2010
http://buckeyefootballanalysis.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
A site dedicated to Buckeye X's and O's. Tuesday, April 27, 2010. But first, specific thoughts from the Spring Game. I re-watched and broke down the first half and did a play-by-play for the First Quarter. Here are my specific thoughts:. The focus of this is short, horizontal. Stretching routes, specifically the: all curl route. The double slant/snag combination. And the double scat. The Defense played very vanilla up-front. They employed their usual array of coverages, but there was very little blit...
