The weebs for the new millenium. Tuesday, September 09, 2008. Andrew has requested a Ruddiger update - Ruddiger is no longer called Ruddiger - her name is now Audrey so that I may call her Rudy. Apparently Rudy already has hair and is five-ish pounds (just a guess-timate based on the size of her Briggs'ian head) She should arrive in about a month and a half, which is exciting and scary at the same time. redleather...: April 2009
http://redleather.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Where I vainly prattle on about my life. Thursday, April 16, 2009. So, I've been killing my considerable downtime at work these days reading a blog, The Non-Consumer Advocate. Basically, a blog about living extremely frugally. She goes so far as to buy nothing new but consumables, and she drastically limits her purchase of those, too. I like to think I do pretty well with making responsible shopping decisions, but I know I could do much better. Hence these thrift-minded posts. Monday, April 13, 2009.

redleather...: January 2010
http://redleather.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Where I vainly prattle on about my life. Saturday, January 09, 2010. Time during which I should probably avoid spending money (since I don't really make any), and should use make lesson plans, exercise, reorganize my crap in the bedroom, and do community service. Alas, my motivation to do these things is. lacking. I'm curious about the community service- I've been assigned to do clerical work at a residential rehab clinic down the street (fascinating! I just cannot talk myself into it. Take, take, take.

The weebs for the new millenium. Wednesday, June 29, 2005. Might be a small caffeine addiction. I think I might have a small caffeine addiction, I had a headache today until I got a few down, then I had a few more, and then a few more, now I'm too the point that I am almost ashamed to post how many ounces that have gone down. Http:/ www.lifehacker.com/software/life-hacks/ask-lifehacker-quitting-caffeine-100011.php. Posted by Ransom @ 2:06 PM. Tuesday, June 28, 2005. Grinnell for the Fourth. 1) I disagree...

redleather...: The Buffening*
http://redleather.blogspot.com/2012/01/buffening.html
Where I vainly prattle on about my life. Sunday, January 08, 2012. The past 18 months have not been kind to Bill and I's waistlines- death, illnesses, the earning of master's degrees and associated academic stress, and so on. Since we are to be married in 181 days (or at least, so claims Wedding Wire), we must refine our physiques. Bill will probably eat one less cookie a day and drop 10 pounds in a week; I will be embarking again on the Sonoma Diet, and blogging about it here. View my complete profile.

Jake and Susie in Spain: April 2008
http://jakeandsusieinspain.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 28, 2008. In Need of a Patron. So I just found out that I'm a groomsman in my best friend's wedding in September. Good news, right? So, being one who likes creative solutions to everything, I figure I have two options that have not yet hit the table. Option 2 - Do something crazy for money. Did you ever watch I Bet You Will? Ever see the Million Dollar Webpage. I'm willing to get a group of people to chip in money for me to do something crazy (but safe, non-scarring, etc.), provided the...

redleather...: DIY Success!
http://redleather.blogspot.com/2011/09/diy-success.html
Where I vainly prattle on about my life. Monday, September 12, 2011. I have successfully replicated an internet DIY project. While I have had much success with following cooking instructions on the internet, I have not attempted craft projects of any kind. This morning, I encountered this DIY tutorial. I won't even tell you how much time I spent running around my apartment figuring out the best place to capture them via cell phone camera. And, OK, I know I colored a bit outside of the lines, but I th...

redleather...: September 2011
http://redleather.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Where I vainly prattle on about my life. Wednesday, September 28, 2011. The last 30 days. In reverse chronological order:. I went to a wedding in St. Louis. My mom had a lumpectomy, which went well. Next will probably be some radiation and then hopefully we will hear no more from this cancer. I started a new job at my old employer. And I got my own office. With a door (but no windows.). I went to a wedding in Las Vegas. I flew to Salt Lake City for 36 hours to see my grandfather. While some might argue t...

redleather...: Goals for the rest of the summer
http://redleather.blogspot.com/2011/07/goals-for-rest-of-summer.html
Where I vainly prattle on about my life. Friday, July 15, 2011. Goals for the rest of the summer. 1) Finish The Corrections. Which is tedious, but should be done. I am 3/4 of the way done, so best soldier on. 2) Develop an opinion about Miranda July. 3) Start working on my oft-declared goal of being about to do the splits by the time I am 30. 4) Lesson-plan. Which means doing some truly odious reading. 6) Eat more salad. To do, but I'm not sure what that should be, so I won't think about it. After what s...

Jake and Susie in Spain: March 2008
http://jakeandsusieinspain.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 26, 2008. One of the most enjoyable musical experiences I had with the Knox College Choir was singing Eric Whitacre's choral works. They're very contemporary tone poems that typically draw from preexisting texts. Frequently, Whitacre found inspiration in the poems of Mexican poet Octavio Paz. Tendidos en la yerba. Una muchacha y un muchacho. Comen naranjas, cambian besos. Como las olas cambian sus espumas. Tendido en la playa. Una muchacha y un muchacho. Comen limones, cambian besos.
