Mr Y's Lab Notes. Discussions About Using PyMata, s2a fm, and Physical Computing. Brain Transplant A Success. I've successfully replaced the original Arduino based processor board that comes with the RedBot. With a Raspberry Pi 3. It looks like a chaotic mess of wires, but is actually quite organized, and no GPIO pins were harmed in the process. A Pi Ez-Connec. So the Ez-Connect can be reused as well. Encoders for each motor. Left and right mechanical bumpers. On board push button switch.

Mr Y's Lab Notes. Discussions About Using PyMata, s2a fm, and Physical Computing. Writing The Software To Control The Raspberry RedBot. I have completed the bulk of the coding for razmq. And the results are in! I wanted to share this information now. The code will be published in a short while, after some cleanup and additional testing. The following screen shots were taken on a Raspberry Pi 3 running the latest Raspbian image, Raspbian Jessie with Pixel. The first is "quiescent" mode. The pigpio. All ot...

Mr Y's Lab Notes. Discussions About Using PyMata, s2a fm, and Physical Computing. What's Next For Xideco? I've begun working on the BeagleBone Black Bridge. I will be using the Debian 7.9 2015-11-12 image. I wanted to use the 8.3 image, but there are some device tree overlay issues when using PWM. There is a new branch. On Github where I will be checking in code from time to time until the work is complete. This is a very volatile branch, so use it at your own risk. I have some notes. Once this is comple...

Mr Y's Lab Notes. Discussions About Using PyMata, s2a fm, and Physical Computing. Update On Universal i2c Support. Today I connected an ADXL345 Accelerometer to a BeagleBone Black and another to a Raspberry Pi. Using a single application running on my Linux PC, I was able to simultaneously receive data updates from both devices. The Linux PC sends out one universal Xideco i2c command and both devices respond. One message to control multiple devices! Currently the data reported by each board consists of:.

Mr Y's Lab Notes. Discussions About Using PyMata, s2a fm, and Physical Computing. Connect An Arduino Esplora. To Scratch or Snap! For many, nothing can be more fun than writing programs that control and monitor physical devices such as joysticks, LEDs, sound sensors, temperature sensors and the like. But before the first line of code can be written, circuits need to be designed, parts need to be procured, and the hardware needs to be assembled and tested. Library and either the Scratch or Snap!
