Photography News and Notes. Images, ideas and commentary by David W. Sumner - www.bigcrow.com. Sunday, May 17, 2015. In recent months a few friends and I have been reading some collections of interviews with well known photographers. Our discussions have been interesting, with a variety of points of view making each of us think deeper and consider alternative approaches to thinking about our work and photography in general. I hope you to find this fun and interesting and as always I am writing to promote...

Working Artist's Journal: March 2015
http://workingartistsjournal.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 06, 2015. Fat Cat", acrylic on canvas, 18"x 24", ©2014, Anna L. Conti. Last night I finished the painting, "Fat Cat" which, along with the previous painting, "Dinner With Friends," marks a new direction for me. I'm done with realism, documentary, and narrative work. I'm still struggling to define what I *am* working toward, but I'm willing to take the rest of this year to figure it out. Transitions" is probably as close as I can get for now. Posted by Anna L. Conti. Other Artists I Follow.

Wednesday, April 15, 2015. Alternative Exhibition Spaces (Artists Keep Inventing). One of Richard Shelton's paintings, on large pieces of destructed buildings. At Temporary Space LA. It’s no longer news that San Francisco is becoming more and more inhospitable to artists and other members of the working class. Many of us are leaving. The rest are scrambling, praying, and looking for new ideas. Dave and I started a public exhibition space in our living space. Temporary Space, like BigCrow. They were also ...

Then I turn around and he was standing in the gallery! Http:/ www.reddogandbates.com/home.html. Http:/ www.samys.com/. Posted by Anna L. Conti. What a g...

Working Artist's Journal: March 2011
http://workingartistsjournal.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 29, 2011. Gottfried Helnwein lecture at SFAI. Spoke at the SF Art Institute last night. It was the visual artists' standard (slide show with commentary) even the standard disclaimer, "I hate making speeches." But he had an entertaining collection of stories and anecdotes and he was very open to questions from the audience, sometimes letting the questions dictate the direction of the talk. He ended the slide show with an image from his stage set in the Israeli Opera, "The Child Dreams.".
