http://goinggreyandslightlygreen.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-new-soap-experiment-with-violets.html
A little about me. Tuesday, 21 July 2015. A New Soap Experiment With Violets. When I make soap each six weeks or so I don't normally add any colouring or fragrance but I thought I would experiment a little with my next batch so sourced a Queensland soap supplier and found Big Tree Supplies. From Murarrie which I just realised is in our capital city of Brisbane. I had asked a soapmaker which type of colourants she preferred and she recommended liquid colourants. I was hoping to buy Violet. With great trep...

A little about me. Saturday, 8 August 2015. Have you heard of ' Share the Dignity. Well, I hadn't until this week when I was watching the TV news and flicking between channels during the ads and came across this video. On The Project about the uncomfortable situation women find themselves in when they are homeless. So I was so happy to hear about the organisation Share the Dignity. If you look on their website there is a list of collection sites. What a great idea that the founder came up with! I am sure...

http://goinggreyandslightlygreen.blogspot.com/2014/01/is-it-safe-to-grow-veggies-in-styrofoam.html
A little about me. Wednesday, 8 January 2014. Is it safe to grow veggies in Styrofoam boxes? I know that many gardeners around Australia and possibly elsewhere in the world, grow vegetables in Styrofoam boxes especially if they are renting or don't have a lot of space to put in larger gardens. We recently saw a couple of episodes on the ABC's Gardening Australia. We were quite interested to see on Gardening Australia. In an episode later on in the year, Jerry Coleby-Williams. Also using a broccoli box.

Going Grey and Slightly Green: End of July Notes
http://goinggreyandslightlygreen.blogspot.com/2015/08/end-of-july-notes.html
A little about me. Saturday, 1 August 2015. End of July Notes. I had a walk around the garden yesterday to take some photos to remind myself about what to do and not do next year. You wouldn't believe it is winter at the moment as we are having a couple of days of really warm temperatures before the cooler weather arrives next week but I don't think there is any snow forecast this time. :-). I priced an organically grown cabbage last year in a certified organic shop and it was $10. Ouch! This is arrowroo...

Going Grey and Slightly Green: From the country to the city
http://goinggreyandslightlygreen.blogspot.com/2015/08/from-country-to-city.html
A little about me. Tuesday, 11 August 2015. From the country to the city. Yesterday a friend and I drove to the 'Big Smoke' commonly known as Brisbane or Brisvegas. Before leaving town we briefly stopped at the beautiful and peaceful looking Queens Park while my friend fixed up her much too loud GPS as we knew it was going to be having to work overtime while we tried not to get lost like we usually do. It wasn't all that long before the peace and tranquility of our regional city changed to the . We talke...
