Saturday, March 21, 2015. The little guy is finally home! He's gotten right to work, giving his Mom grief - but I guess that's to be expected. Thank you! ON OUR WAY TO PICK UP BEN! We are on our way to the hospital now, and are planning to fill out our discharge paperwork for Ben. He has stayed off oxygen and the heater, and has been eating well for a couple of days. Wednesday, March 18, 2015. 3/18/15 - Happy Birthday, Rachel! Went to the hospital this morning, and got some (mostly) good news! Ben is off the heater! Last night was able to sleep in a regular bed, and maintain body temperature so far. Ben is off oxygen! They removed his tubes and he was able to keep his oxygen saturation levels up throughout the night and this morning. He is currently breathing room air. Ben is off the feeding tube! Monday, March 16, 2015. Still trying to get him off oxygen, but haven't been able to fully remove it. Now at 25% and .2 liters/min flow. Will continue to work on adjusting that overnight. Eating better, but still gets too tired to finish most feeds. Feeding tube is used when he is too tired. Having a hard time keeping himself warm, and is still using the warmers 100% of the time. Friday, March 13, 2015. Not yet an oompa loompa, but has some jaundice. Went through this with Rachel, but at home. Anticipate IV will come out today. All fluids via mouth or feeding tube. Still on O 2. 25% concentration (normal air is 21%). 1 liter/min flow since Wed (2 liter/min prior). Tried to reduce to 23% last night, but had to go back. Two partial feedings via bottle, in a row. Finished both feedings via tube. 25% of food remains undigested after 3 hrs, needs to be 0%. ON OUR WAY TO PICK UP BEN!

Tuesday, March 17, 2015. 3/17/15 - Happy St. Patty's Day! Still on oxygen after multiple attempts to remove it completely. Will continue to try daily to reduce his % and flow. Currently at 25%, and 0.2 liters/min. Taking majority of his feedings orally, and not needing the feeding tube every time he eats. Friday, March 13, 2015. All stats are the same as this morning, and he has started on the lights for the jaundice. The nurse who was caring for him today estimated that he would need them for at least a few days. They had not removed the IV when Casey went to see him around 4:00pm, but planned to at some point this evening. More updates tomorrow. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers.
