It's not my fault I'm attractive...: End of the first half.
http://itsnotmyfaultimattractive.blogspot.com/2011/05/end-of-first-half.html
Monday, May 16, 2011. End of the first half. My comprehensive exams in physics are over! One of the major requirements in getting my Master's degree is complete. Provided, of course, that I passed them all. I think I did rather good in my exams in classical mechanics and quantum mechanics, but I struggled a bit in statistical physics and did bad in eletrodynamics. Studying for quantum mechanics and statistical physics went smoothly. I learned a lot from our quantum mechanics class. When I took it...Atene...

It's not my fault I'm attractive...: November 2010
http://itsnotmyfaultimattractive.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 23, 2010. I wish for a continuous, periodic function. It has only been 3 weeks since the semester started and I'm already having money problems. Its not that I'm not budgeting my money properly, but there's just really a lot of expenses, especially at the start of school semesters. This is only an approximation. I'll get data from my ATM account and I'll post that soon. Sunday, November 7, 2010. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). DOE's Office Of Science Faces Disastrous Cuts. View my complete ...

It's not my fault I'm attractive...: May 2011

Tuesday, May 24, 2011. Schroedinger's cat. PETA must be pissed. It's almost thesis season again. I can smell it. If I pass my comprehensive exams, I'll have to defend my proposal next semester, finish my research, and eventually defend my thesis by 2012. As I've mentioned countless times before, I want to work on oblique angle deposition (OAD). Why? The way he sees science, he thinks that scientists work in labs and think of a concept or an invention that'll bring TONS of money. That or cure cancer&#...

It's not my fault I'm attractive...: January 2011

Saturday, January 29, 2011. Time to start working? I still don't have a definite topic to work on. I'm still a bit obsessed with metal nanorods. Reading as much papers I can on the subject. I tried doing some preliminary work on copper nanorods but the results weren't promising. The nanorods were oxidizing before I could even do any charact. Erization work. Apparently, copper nanorods don't form the thin oxide layer. That prevents further oxidation that is found in bulk copper and copper thin films.

Friday, September 9, 2011. September 8, widely celebrated in the mostly Catholic Philippines as the birthday of the Virgin Mary. However, this year, this day also marked the investiture of Fr. Jose Villarin as the 30th president of the Ateneo de Manila University. Here's his investiture speech. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). DOE's Office Of Science Faces Disastrous Cuts. It's not my fault I'm attractive...: April 2011

Wednesday, April 27, 2011. PhD: Doubts if its worth it. I found some interesting articles in Nature. Today I don't really have much time to write much about it, since I have some important exams coming up that I need to pass to get my Master's degree. But since I'm planning on taking up further studies after this, I just had to share these articles. I'll write more about them in a couple of weeks. Education: the PhD factory. It's not my fault I'm attractive...: Wishing I had Eleanor
http://itsnotmyfaultimattractive.blogspot.com/2011/05/since-our-undergraduate-student-in-lab.html
Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Wishing I had Eleanor. Since our undergraduate student in the lab, Nico, has first dibs on the thermal evaporator set-up, I can't really perform any experiments this week. I was away much of the summer reviewing for my comprehensive exam that my eternal dib on my set-up was overruled by our adviser. Now I have to wait for him to finish his experiments before I can reconfigure the set-up for my experiments. Scheduling sucks. Replace the oil in the diffusion pump.
