Andrew Marlow's Web Log: C++ code to dump memory in hex and ASCII
http://marlowa.blogspot.com/2014/06/c-code-to-dump-memory-in-hex-and-ascii.html
Andrew Marlow's Web Log. Andrew's random technical ramblings. Tuesday, June 10, 2014. C code to dump memory in hex and ASCII. Every now and then I have the need to dump a block of memory as hex and ASCII in some C code I am working on. Each time I google for some code I can snaffle to do the trick. Each time I find something of very mediocre quality which will just about do for the occasion. Well, I finally got sick and tired of this and now I am publishing my own solution. http://marlowa.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Andrew Marlow's Web Log. Andrew's random technical ramblings. Sunday, November 04, 2012. Grid computing and high availability. One of the things I found out when working on a grid system is that Murphy's Law works overtime there. In fact I would go as far as to say that on a grid "even if nothing can go wrong then it will". So, for the next time, if ever, that I find myself working on a grid system, I will probably want to refer to this article. About HA-OSCAR that I found in The Linux Journal. I have be...

Andrew Marlow's Web Log: The death of Purify
http://marlowa.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-death-of-purify.html
Andrew Marlow's Web Log. Andrew's random technical ramblings. Saturday, August 01, 2015. The death of Purify. Purify is a memory debugger program used by software developers to detect memory access errors in programs, especially those written in C or C . It was originally written by Pure Software. Why was purify so good? Effectively purify is dead. This is a serious problem for the development and maintenance of legacy C programs. Could Purify detect problems with static buffer overflow? I am not sure...

Andrew Marlow's Web Log. Andrew's random technical ramblings. Friday, February 21, 2014. Software developer competency matrix. One of the ACCU mailing lists currently has a thread going where the challenges of hiring good C developers is being discussed. Someone posted a link to a software developer competency matrix. I thought it was rather good so decided to blog about so I didn't forget and so that I would have something to go back to for reference purposes. Cant seem to click on the first link.

Andrew Marlow's Web Log. Andrew's random technical ramblings. Thursday, April 18, 2013. Problems with git svn clone on windoze using cygwin. I am back in a windoze development environment and am using subversion (svn) for source code control. I am trying to experiment with git so I thought I would try to use git in conjunction with svn. This is turning out to be quite a bit of trouble. It all depends on which version of svn you are using. Subversion 1.7 servers use the same repository format as Subve...
