Dusk: April 2015
http://duskthemeetingplace.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Day and Night embrace and for a moment there is divine moderation. Wednesday, April 15, 2015. Walking in the Footprints. Our plane landed in Hawaii at 10:30am. By 2pm we were on the beach. We don't believe in wasting time. Not when there's an ocean involved. Avonlea, Grant, and Dave had their snorkel gear on and were off. Rowan was catching surf on the boogie board and Rose was rolling in the waves, a horizontal, aquatic Tasmanian devil. I was on the sand prostrate. I remembered that footprint in the day...

Dusk: Spring comes to Parkdale: By Avonlea
http://duskthemeetingplace.blogspot.com/2015/05/spring-comes-to-parkdale-by-avonlea.html
Day and Night embrace and for a moment there is divine moderation. Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Spring comes to Parkdale: By Avonlea. That is my intro to a long train of pictures from Parkdale (these pictures up above aren't from Parkdale). Note Bald Butte in the window's reflection. We hiked to the top on Sunday for the first time. Dad's tractor which he loves and which we have to rescue every time he uses it (it stops working). One of the many nests we would find. This one is in the open barn. I'm a poet l...

Dusk: One Day More
http://duskthemeetingplace.blogspot.com/2015/05/one-day-more.html
Day and Night embrace and for a moment there is divine moderation. Saturday, May 9, 2015. I also like One Day More because it is TRUE. Each day, is a story in itself, yet is connected to so many other stories all with a huge over-arching theme. I sang it this morning as I cut the butter into my scones. "Another day, another destiny, on this never-ending road to Calvary." Yes, I am on the road to Calvary, dying to self, living to God. One Day More, another day another destiny.". Dusk: Amen

Day and Night embrace and for a moment there is divine moderation. Tuesday, June 23, 2015. I have my arms around the toilet when she says it. It's cleaning day and my girls are scrubbing with me. Rose complains about this inconvenience to her plans. I reason, "Rose, do you know how gross it would be if we didn't clean the toilets and the floors? She scours the sink and retorts,. I think we are going to think differently about some things in life.". Yes, we probably are. Rosy sleeping with her babies.

Dusk: July 2014
http://duskthemeetingplace.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Day and Night embrace and for a moment there is divine moderation. Wednesday, July 30, 2014. A Time to Say Yes. I'll admit. There were times when the concept of "18 years" overwhelmed me. Not at first. Not when I held their soft, wet bodies for the first time. But later. Around one and a half. Eighteen years stretched out before me as a vast uncharted sea inhabited by diapers, Prom dates, pink eye, shaving, hide-and-seek, bubble baths, Algebra, and Barbie. And I loved it. What in the world was I thinking?

Dusk: Turning Outward
http://duskthemeetingplace.blogspot.com/2015/03/turning-outward.html
Day and Night embrace and for a moment there is divine moderation. Wednesday, March 18, 2015. I simply don't care. I love it. When my children were little, I worked hard to make that candle a reality. I taught them as much as I could about the Light of the world. I homeschooled them and made our day revolve around the Bible and Jesus. We lived life together, arms around each other, facing the Light. We will still have times when we turn inward as a family. But more and more, our focus is outside thes...

Day and Night embrace and for a moment there is divine moderation. Saturday, February 28, 2015. These Boots Were Made For. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news! The boots in Haiti. After much prayer and thought I decided to go, and I was sc...

Dusk: September 2014

Day and Night embrace and for a moment there is divine moderation. Tuesday, September 9, 2014. In 1908, when our house was being built, the owners put up a little, temporary house to live in. It didn't have a foundation or a real roof. It was never meant to be lived in long term, only until this house was built. But somehow, it was sold, and for the last 60 years a married couple lived in it. About 3 years ago, we were given the opportunity to buy it, as it adjoins our property. When we asked HOW? I'm a ...
