Opinions on food, drink and articles/TV shows involving them. Ever since I was little I’ve always been a sugar fiend. I would always try the latest confections and candy treats. If there was a new candy advertised on television, you could be sure that I was one of the first to try it. I’m on my 6th day and so far have made some observations:. 1) Fruit makes a good dessert. In the evenings, instead of grabbing for cookies, I’d enjoy an orange, berries, a banana, or other fruit. Eating fruit ...All in all,...

Opinions on food, drink and articles/TV shows involving them. 8220;No Sugar” update. So, what’s your favorite sugary treat? This month, I decided to give up sugar. My husband has also joined me in my venture, so it’s nice to have support. I’ve realized it’s easier to say no, or just acknowledge that there is cake, cookies, brownies, doughnuts, etc. and label them as off limits. Then I grab for fruit or other items because I need some sweetness in my life! And, to all of this, I said no. I won’t be ...

Opinions on food, drink and articles/TV shows involving them. Cold Winter Days Call for Soups and Roasted Vegetables. When I wake up on a cold winter day, the last thing I want to do is get out of bed and the first thing I think of is something warm and comforting to eat. That’s why, one cold morning, I decided to make Potato Leek soup. I used this recipe from Robert Irvine: http:/ www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/robert-irvine/potato-leek-soup-recipe.html. Growing up, like many kids, I hated Brussels Sprouts!

I think it could be improved by adding in Sriracha or other herbs to enhance the flavor, but then I suppose that m...It was quit...

Preserving food | eatdrinkandrepeat
https://eatdrinkandrepeat.wordpress.com/2013/05/18/preserving-food
Opinions on food, drink and articles/TV shows involving them. Warning: for this post, I may sound like an infomercial. You have been warned. Tired of wasting produce because it goes bad before you have time to eat it? You don’t need a fancy piece of eqpuiment or vacuum sealer to preserve your produce. All you need is a container of water and a plastic recloseable bag. Simply, fill the bag with your produce (I used a sandwich bag but freezer and gallon bags work well for larger items).
