Amateur Baking: My Go-To Cake Recipe

http://www.amateurbakingblog.blogspot.com/2011/03/my-go-to-cake-recipe.html

Saturday, March 19, 2011. My Go-To Cake Recipe. This white almond cake is AMAZING. When it is baking it will make your entire house smell like the inside of a Coldstone's Creamery. The best part is that the recipe calls for a box cake mix making it super easy to not mess up! 1 (1825 ounce) package white cake mix. 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1 cup white sugar. 1 1/3 cups water. 1 cup sour cream. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. 1 teaspoon almond extract. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. No Sugar September | eatdrinkandrepeat

https://eatdrinkandrepeat.wordpress.com/2014/09/06/no-sugar-september

Opinions on food, drink and articles/TV shows involving them. Ever since I was little I’ve always been a sugar fiend. I would always try the latest confections and candy treats. If there was a new candy advertised on television, you could be sure that I was one of the first to try it. I’m on my 6th day and so far have made some observations:. 1) Fruit makes a good dessert. In the evenings, instead of grabbing for cookies, I’d enjoy an orange, berries, a banana, or other fruit. Eating fruit ...All in all,...

“No Sugar” update | eatdrinkandrepeat

https://eatdrinkandrepeat.wordpress.com/2014/09/18/no-sugar-update

Opinions on food, drink and articles/TV shows involving them. 8220;No Sugar” update. So, what’s your favorite sugary treat? This month, I decided to give up sugar. My husband has also joined me in my venture, so it’s nice to have support. I’ve realized it’s easier to say no, or just acknowledge that there is cake, cookies, brownies, doughnuts, etc. and label them as off limits. Then I grab for fruit or other items because I need some sweetness in my life! And, to all of this, I said no. I won’t be ...

Sugar Safari | eatdrinkandrepeat

https://eatdrinkandrepeat.wordpress.com/2014/10/07/sugar-safari

Opinions on food, drink and articles/TV shows involving them. Last Tuesday was the end of my “No Sugar September.” Here are some of my thoughts about the month of no refined sugar:. Staying away from sugar made me feel less anxious throughout the workday and more productive while at work. My job keeps my on my toes and can be very stressful at times, like many jobs can. While away from sugar, I was able to get my work done and feel good while I was doing it. I lost 4 lbs without any other changes in rout...

Cold Winter Days Call for Soups and Roasted Vegetables | eatdrinkandrepeat

Opinions on food, drink and articles/TV shows involving them. Cold Winter Days Call for Soups and Roasted Vegetables. When I wake up on a cold winter day, the last thing I want to do is get out of bed and the first thing I think of is something warm and comforting to eat. That’s why, one cold morning, I decided to make Potato Leek soup. I used this recipe from Robert Irvine: http:/ www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/robert-irvine/potato-leek-soup-recipe.html. Growing up, like many kids, I hated Brussels Sprouts!

Opinions on food, drink and articles/TV shows involving them. UPDATE: I began this blog prior to starting this new diet. As of now, I have been on this diet for a week and a half, so I have some insight on things. This past weekend, I decided to do Dr. Oz’s 48-hour weekend cleanse ( http:/ www.doctoroz.com/videos/48-hour-weekend-cleanse. Page=5#copy. I’ll give the soup 3 stars. I think it could be improved by adding in Sriracha or other herbs to enhance the flavor, but then I suppose that m...It was quit...

Preserving food | eatdrinkandrepeat

https://eatdrinkandrepeat.wordpress.com/2013/05/18/preserving-food

Opinions on food, drink and articles/TV shows involving them. Warning: for this post, I may sound like an infomercial. You have been warned. Tired of wasting produce because it goes bad before you have time to eat it? You don’t need a fancy piece of eqpuiment or vacuum sealer to preserve your produce. All you need is a container of water and a plastic recloseable bag. Simply, fill the bag with your produce (I used a sandwich bag but freezer and gallon bags work well for larger items). Bakes of Life

Friday, October 2, 2009. I baked Apple muffins last night! Tastewise. not as fragrant as I wanted, even with cinnimon. The taste of apples were also not strong, thus I felt the muffins were on the bland side. Should try finding out what type of apples are best for baking, just like delmonte bananas. Or maybe, applesauce? It's weird how when I don't really like the muffins, mummy would say it's not bad. Bland taste goes well with her. haha. Anyways, just some drooling pictures to share! By the way, during...

Ballroom Dancing In Dallas

Ballroom Dancing In Dallas. This weekend I had another coaching session with Mazen. We divided the session between Rumba and Foxtrot. Start with both legs straight and hips neutral. Bend the left knee, lifting the left heel off the ground and pulling the right hip back. Straighten the left knee and bend the right knee. This should pull the left hip back. Bring the right foot next to the left foot, while keeping the right heel off the ground. Step right with the right foot and land on a very slightly flex...
