Al's reflective blog: August 2005
http://alsreflective.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 19, 2005. For those who have been wondering about the updates to my blog. Recent job changes etc have made it difficult for me to write anything. I will try however to update once a week minimum. I’ve decided to take this blog in a new direction, after comments from close friends and my dearest wife (masha’Allah) I’ve decided to write things from my own perspective (as opposed to the majority of the blog being written in an informative way). Now that I’m here, why not write a little? What ...

Al's reflective blog: April 2005
http://alsreflective.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 28, 2005. My last post was quite serious, at this very moment in time I’m laughing so much I’m crying, I can’t even type: Picture the scene, you have me, Mr D and Mr K in a conversation. Mr K is helping me with a document when he sees Mr D’s phone and says. Wow I like that, isn’t that nice and slim. MR D turns around and says,. What is, what’s nice and slim? Al feels all mischievous and says. You are, he thinks your nice and slim. No your bloody phone. I’m crying all over the keyboard.

Abu Musa's Chilled Blog: June 2006
http://alschilled.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
Abu Musa's Chilled Blog. Thursday, June 15, 2006. Parenting: an Islamic Perspective. By Abu Musa Alyas. The feeling of wanting a child is something that is natural, necessary and a very basic part of human life. At a certain point of reaching adulthood, the desire to become a parent intensifies, and as the psyche develops, so does the physical body in preparation for this journey. Unfortunately, not many people actually consider at a deeper level what it means to become a parent. The shepherd does not me...

KID-IN-ME: October 2005
http://kidinme.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 18, 2005. Our last whole day at JIMAS. It was the same drill as yesterday in terms of getting up and oh yes the delumpscious breakfast welcomed us once again. Thank goodness, I managed to get Tookh into the crèche without any real hassle, and once he was safely in, I pregnantly pegged it down to the talk. It was explained how man would be punished in the grave for sins such as backbiting, adultery and issues such as not cleaning oneself properly after using the toilet. I left that talk f...

KID-IN-ME: January 2006
http://kidinme.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 27, 2006. Perrep is about 46 cm (18 inches long) and weighs about 6lb, if this is the first baby the head will soon engage, drop downwards into the upper pelvis in preparation for birth. As I’ve given birth before, Perrep may not engage for several more weeks and maybe not until labour. Perrep’s heartbeat is twice as fast as mine, about 110 to 150 beats per minute, hubby can now hear Perrep’s heartbeat by putting his ear to my abdomen. Perrep now weighs approx 7 pounds. For a start, sudde...

KID-IN-ME: November 2005
http://kidinme.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 15, 2005. Well, the day after JIMAS is one where you spend the day talking about it non-stop, saying things like, ‘Oh remember when Tookh fell over? Or ‘You will never believe who I bumped into’ etc etc,. It’s a way of being there still, and at the same time a state of denial at being at home again. Well that day we ended up driving around and finding our way to the beach. We took the inside routes, and maaan were they complicated. Was I mortified or what? So off we went to go get it.

KID-IN-ME: September 2005
http://kidinme.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 21, 2005. After I had shnoozed the alarms on both our alarms several times, I lay there wondering how on earth hubby was going to make it for fajr (dawn prayer) on time. Then instantly my worries were over; ‘wallop’, his phone, like a lemming possessed, had been vibrating (while the alarm was off yet again), and jumped straight off the bedside cabinet plonking him on the head. Oh gosh are you ok? The serenity at that time of the morning is amazing in a totally intense way. You go in ...
