In Season: Strawberry Salad with Candied Almonds
http://andreainseason.blogspot.com/2014/06/strawberry-salad-with-candied-almonds.html
Sunday, June 22, 2014. Strawberry Salad with Candied Almonds. This salad is simply the Mandarin Orange Salad. I've made for years, but with strawberries instead of the Mandarin oranges. Update, 7/6/14 - I took this salad to a family picnic today, only I substituted black raspberries from my dad's farm for the oranges or strawberries. I think that may be the best combination to date! Sunday, May 11, 2014. I had been tossing the woody ends into my compost until I came across this recipe. Why didn't I think of that? It's the same revelation as corn cob stock. I'm going to use it in place of some of the chicken stock in the Mushroom and Asparagus Risotto. I'm making for today's lunch. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). About Eating In Season. In Season: Broccoli Salad
http://andreainseason.blogspot.com/2010/07/broccoli-salad.html
Saturday, July 3, 2010. This is the classic Broccoli Salad that everyone loves. I tried giving it a healthful tweak by using yogurt in place of the mayo. I'm not ready to recommend that yet; there's got to be a better option, but I haven't figured it out - I'll keep working at it! But, I did substitute sunflower seeds for the bacon which worked nicely. My broccoli is continuing to produce sideshoots despite the initial rabbit onslaught, so I'm quite pleased. :).
