Thursday, November 19, 2009. Another great package design. I like 'em upfront. Monday, November 16, 2009. The outside is just as important as the inside. Monday, September 28, 2009. The layout design I had in mind for Project 2. Friday, September 25, 2009. Spotted: Art and Science joined at the hip. My friend Sophia's recent trip to a molecular gastronomy restaurant in Chicago was an inspiration for the Definition. Actually, the "ashes" are sesame seeds, the "cigar wrapper" is made from collard greens, and inside is pulled pork. Art and science should hook up more often. They know how to make beauty. Words and Images Blog: The Lovely Bones
http://crescentcharm.blogspot.com/2009/12/lovely-bones.html
Wednesday, December 9, 2009. The Lovely Bones is something that grips at your heart in all the right places. We see the world during the late 60s from a raped and murdered 14-year-old girl living in heaven. Even from the title, the juxtaposition of lovely. Gives a sense of Sebold's bold. December 10, 2009 at 6:36 AM. Well have to report to each other on how we think Peter Jackson did. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). There was an error in this gadget. Friday, October 30, 2009. The new bathroom decor. Rice to Riches in NYC. I love how they put speech bubbles on the mirror. Thoughts you think about as you look at your reflection. I should have mini ones in my bathroom as morning inspirations. Not just for building castles. Http:/ www.youtube.com/watch? A cool video on how a sand artist tells a story. Popcorn, extra butter. I also love the retro movie posters. They should bring back the graphics and colors. Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Random Inspiration...

Wednesday, September 30, 2009. A Designer's Eye: Baltimore Harbor Waterkeeper. Even the word "Waterkeepers" looks visibly balanced with the placement of the registered trademark on the corner (similar to where the "W" starts on the opposite side). Finally, the use of complementary colors (blue and orange) for the text really works for me as well. The blue works to encapsulate the cityscape and the orange really draws the reader's eye to it and, ultimately the name of the event. Brandon G. DeStefano.

Monday, January 11, 2010. From the Box Office: Sherlock Holmes. Robert Downey, Jr. continues to impress me with the phoenix-like resurrection of his career, adding another stellar performance to his resume with Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes. Playing the title role of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's enigmatic detective only goes to cement his standing among the Hollywood elite and A-list actors. Brandon G. DeStefano. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Tuesday, May 25, 2010. A Designer's Eye: Typography - The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Although it's been a few months, I'm ready to jump back into the saddle and start contributing to the blog-o-sphere again! So, without further ado, here we go. Here are few of the ones that really stood out:. These next two examples I found to be very interesting. Both make use of horizontal lines to break the letters within the design, but each one seems unfinished. In the first example, I fail to see why the designer ...

Monday, November 30, 2009. A Designer's Eye: Starbuck Campaign. Just in time for the season, Starbucks has rolled out their latest campaign for their holiday drinks. I saw these at work ('cause we "Proudly Serve Starbucks Coffee" and therefore have to advertise for them.) and just had to grab a picture of them. The composition is excellent and the contrast in colors make them stand together as a campaign, but apart enough to stand on their own. Enjoy! Brandon G. DeStefano. Saturday, November 28, 2009.

Wednesday, December 16, 2009. Into the Blogosphere: TheDieline.com. As I was perusing the internet today, looking for something interesting to blog about, I stumbled across this blog dedicated to package design. The site includes not only studies of existing package designs and marketing strategies, but also conceptual redesigns of existing products. Since we just got our grades back for Project 5, I thought that I'd share the link for a little inspiration for revisions. Http:/ www.thedieline.com/. Step ...
